Today I had the pleasure of visiting Spain for a couple of hours as I watched the Career Break Secrets Spain Country Pass Series.
It has been a long time since I was excited and inspired from a travel show. Many of the travel shows on TV today follow the same formula that they have for years visiting the same countries with the same hosts seeing the same sites. It has been a while since I even bothered to tune into one on a Canadian network.
That is why I am very excited that there are travel guides popping up on the Internet like the ones from Career Break Secrets.
I am always skeptical when watching online videos. Many people lack the personality and charisma that keeps me interested when watching a program. Sound is usually lacking and editing and camera work are usually sub par.
Career Break Secrets Travel Guide Series Smashes all the stereotypes of online travel programs.
The minute that the Career Break Secrets video started, I was instantly hooked. I enjoyed host Jeff Jung’s energy. He has a very pleasant and upbeat voice to listen to. He has the talent of a voice actor that keeps the audience engaged and entertained.
I love how the producers catch the viewers attention right off of the top. The episode starts with a catchy opening scene instantly transporting you to Spain. Scenes of today’s episode flash before you on your screen to well chosen music while Jeff gives the audience and introduction to the country.
It has slick graphics, strong editing and most importantly, excellent sound. Jeff’s voice is clean and clear, the interviews and voice overs are free of noise and the subtitles are easy to follow and understand.
It is after he outlines what the episode will be covering, that the Career Break Secrets montage and graphics appear to their theme music.
By that time I am hooked and ready to watch more.
The Spain travel guides appeal to all types of travelers. From hiking the Camino de Santiago and Studying Spanish in Milan to Learning to cook Spanish cuisine in Seville, Career Break Secrets Video Travel guides have something for everyone.
After watching the Camino do Santiago episode, I wanted to book my ticket to Spain! Because of Career Break Secrets, this may be our next great adventure.
The episodes are well laid out in clear segments providing useful information, while at the same time being entertaining.
I especially enjoy their 5 W’s and 1 H segments where they give some extra information and of course the Career Break Secrets Top Secrets to provide the viewer with insider tips.
I would have liked to see more of Jeff on camera. I enjoy listening to his voice overs and interviews and find him to be very charismatic. I think that having him sit with the subjects more as he interviews them would add another dimension to the videos. Once Micah Brandt took over as camera operator and director, we saw more of Jeff in the food and wine episodes and that is when I found that the Travel Guides really found their stride.
One of my favorite videos was the cooking school because Jeff was on camera so much. It goes to show what a strong host can do for a series. The cooking school was the video I was least interested in watching (I’m one of the few people not into the cooking channel) and it ended up being my favourite episode because of the interactions and entertainment.
As I write this I want to head out to the wine store and find a great pairing for my dinner tonight!
If there was one podcast or video series that I would subscribe to on the Internet, Career Break Secrets would be it. It has the production value of a network television travel series and the host has the skills and talent to rival hosts on prime time TV. If video travel guide series are the wave of the future online, Jeff and his crew are the leaders of the pack.
