Follow Us to Mongolia with Track24 Solo

There is no rest for Team Social Media Syndicate for the Mongol Rally. Our arrival was a whirlwind and it didn’t stop for 8 days.

After gathering our car and getting our paperwork in order, we had one final stop at the Track24 Solo office in the trendy Soho district of London.

What a fantastic bunch of guys.

If you haven’t been following us, the Track24 Solo is an amazing device that will be tracking our team all the way to Mongolia! Check out their facebook fanpage to follow along with the fun! This is going to be the hot trend in travel in the near future. It’s perfect for parents whose kids are going on a gap year. They can stay connected and know exactly where they are in case anything happens. A little peace of mind goes a long way.

Learning how the Track24 Solo Works with the computer

With the surge in adventure travel, it is an excellent idea for people heading out to the desert or trekking through a rainforest. The Track24 Solo can track your every move on satellite and pinpoint your location if anything goes wrong. If you hit the emergency panic button, your friends and family will be alerted immediately as well as the Track24 Solo monitoring office and a plan of action can be put into place to come and get you!

We’ll be able to stay connected with friends and family at home via SMS and we’ll also be able to press an emergency panic button if anything goes wrong along the route. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that!

This is very exciting for everyone all around. the Track 24 Solo is normally used in combat situations like Afganastan. Usually the military has someone monitoring the device every minute of the day and is on guard for anything to happen. For us, we’ll be uploading our data once every hour.

Unlike the guys in the military or working in the hot spot oil producing countries of the world, we’ll be announcing our every move. It’s the exact opposite of what this device has been used for in the past. We will be checking in at weigh points on the satellite to let people know about a cool spot or location. It’s called checking in at Weigh Points. In the usual combat situation, people don’t want anyone to know where they are never check in anywhere on the satellite. We on the other hand, will be checking in constantly when we see something cool.

You just know that we are going to put in the extremely interesting details like…”Great Bathroom here” or “we spotted a giant lizard on the side of the road at this exact latitude. Don’t worry, we’ll keep you well informed.”

We liked the guys at Track 24 Solo so much we made a little video of our time there.

  1. Fantastic device! Definitely useful for people going to remote areas. A device like this could be great for communicating with others and helping them if they need it (hoping it never comes to that!). It’s like a home security system for travel! :)
