Pyrenees and Press for ThePlanetD in Spain

It’s been a busy week here in Costa Brava Spain. We first met Jaume of the Costa Brava Tourism Board in Colorado and hit it off with this energetic and friendly man. It was on the gondola up to the top of the mountain at Keystone that he said to us, you have to come to Spain to visit Costa Brava. How could we say no?

Well, three months later and we’re here running around the beautiful Spanish countryside enjoying adventures in the Pyrenees. While we’ll be talking about all the fun and hijinks in the coming days, we thought we’d let you know why it seems we have dropped off the face of the earth once again. Things have been busy! It all started with an opening party at TBEX (The Travel Blog Exchange) where we were speakers at the conference. As our bus arrived, we were whisked away for an interview with Spanish Television to talk about travel blogging and adventure.

It’s amazing to see how the world is embracing online media and it is a dream come true to be a small part of the travel explosion. We felt like we were at the oscars. The Three star Michelin restaurant El Cellar de Can Roca where the chef’s are specialists and we ate the most decadent, interesting fusion of foods I have ever tasted in my life. El Cellar de Can Roca was voted the number one restaurant in the world, and after tasting their food, I can understand why!

While our part of the keynote speech was cancelled due to speaker Chris Gillabeau arriving late to the conference and only having time for a 30 minute session, we weren’t too disappointed because we got to relax, enjoy the show and head out to the estate of one of the wealthiest men in the world where he entertained us for the afternoon. I don’t think anything could compare to hanging out on a private estate, tasting boutique wine and touring the award winning designer home of the owner who flew in from Switzerland for this special occasion.

In Pyrenees

It was then time for business and we departed for our InPyrenees trip through the mountains. We are currently still on the tour and as I am writing this, I am basking in one of the few mornings we’ve been able to sleep and take it easy. InPyrenees has been garnering a lot of attention outside the blogging world and Dave and I even had one of our photos featured in the Girona paper. I’m particularly proud of this one because it was a team effort. I took the photo while Dave did the editing to spruce it up for Instagram. Our newest and favourite social networking site. If you’re not on it, you have to join it. It is so much fun to look at people’s photos from around the world! Follow us in Instagram here.
