Lucerne at night

Lucerne, Switzerland is host to this year’s Adventure Travel World Summit. The ATWS is superbowl of adventure travel and they couldn’t have picked a more perfect setting. Just look at that photo of Lucerne at night below. It’s gorgeous!

We are so excited to not only to be attending the ATWS but Dave also took the stage to inform companies and tourism boards of the benefits of working with Travel Bloggers. As attending Media, we have had the privilege of taking part in media sessions, VIP receptions, pre-summit tours and the chance to talk with tour operators and tourism boards. We’ll be in Switzerland for many more days after the summit exploring it’s beauty with Expedia.com but for now, enjoy our home away from home.  Instead of using our Swiss Pass to grab a bus back to our hotel, we enjoyed a leisurely stroll with new friends around Lake Lucerne and if we didn’t do that, we never would have captured this magnificent view.

  6. Lucerne is great! If your readers are looking for a unique place to spend a night, I recommend “Jailhotel Loewengraben.”. It’s an old converted jail that is now a hotel – fun experience (for one night)!

  8. I love Lucerne, it’s such a pretty town. My favourite part of visiting Lucerne is stocking up on Swiss chocolates ;-) Gotta keep warm somehow in winter!

    • Mmm, Swiss chocolates. Something else I loved in Lucerne was the chestnuts for sale on the corner of the bridge. They smelled so good.

  14. Lucerne Switzerland is also a town of modern age, known for new architecture and innovative design. The Spaniard Santiago Calatrava sketched the city’s train station.

The French architect Jean Nouvel designed the imposing cultural- and the congress centre, a symbiosis between tradition and modern age. Today, festivals, concerts, and congresses are taking place at this unusual place.
