Avoid Estiatorio Platanos, Restaurant Platanos.
Large American or Canadian man running this place with lots of blah blah. It's such a shame that his food isn't as good as his chat, and as large too.
Terrible portions, small plates, high prices for what you get and he doesn't care, as long as he gets your money

He doesn't like Greeks in his restaurant because they see his scams. AVOID.

STUNNING little town with a chilled and relaxing vibe.
STUNNING little town with a chilled and relaxing vibe. Without a doubt, the best town to stay on Kefalonia. Asos is in a great location, relative to all the beautiful beaches and small towns in the north of the island. Asos has 2 well stocked mini marts, a bakery and a couple of nice restaurants. We rented a boat for the day through Conteco Rent a Boat, and explored all the coves and beautiful beaches around the Asos area. That was day to remember!
The walk up to the Asos castle ruins is easy to navigate on a wide path and takes about 30 mins. Once up there, you are afforded the most amazing views back over the town and the towering cliffs.
You dont need a car when you are in Asos, but you definitely need a car if you are planning on exploring the island. The roads are very winding but everywhere you go the views are stunning!
We stayed a week, and will be coming back again.

Not only is Asos a stunning town - offering picture-perfect photos at every corner - but the people are wonderful and welcoming too. Can highly recommend the bakery! Good range of restaurants. Wonderful walks. Amazing scenery. Stunning swimming spots. Brilliant vistas! I would move there in a shot if I could!!!
We used Kefalonia Taxis for all our transfers - was so stress free not having to worry about transport. And we hired a boat for a day which was great for exploring to majestic beaches you can’t get to by road.

We had 4 nights there. Stunning and so chilled. Gets busy during day with coach tours but is understandable as is stunning. Lovely first thing and evening as quieter. Sea is beautiful. Suggest you buy beach shoes as stony beach. Stunning views from walk up to castle. It is a nice walk with good, wide path.

Asos is a stunningly pretty little village.
Asos is a stunningly pretty little village. We wanted tranquility and relaxation - and it certainly delivered that. There are beautiful views all around the village and a walk up to the castle is definitely worth doing. The beach is pebbly but the sea is calm and clear so was ideal for swimming.
The town is very quiet so may not suit everyone and a car is essential if you want to explore more of the island as there is no public transport from Asos. But we were content with what it had to offer and we ate incredibly well across four of the village's five food outlets with groceries from the two well-stocked mini marts.

Asos is a beautiful little seaside village well worth the the intense drive. The bakery is fantastic ( as is the woman who runs it ) and the hike up to Asos Castle a great walk.
Restaurants aren’t plenty but we did land upon 2 very nice meals. It’s a very popular sailing destination and one could spend a long lunch overlooking the wee harbour as boats come in and depart.
The 2 small beaches are well used and the water is clean.
All in all, a great stay but perhaps a day too long. There isn’t that much to do.
Fantastic location overlooking Asos town and harbour. Comfortable apartments, each with a balcony to sit out and enjoy the supper view. Our studio apartment was small, but well equipped and spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom modern, while the apartment had everything you needed to enjoy a stay in the beautiful, picturesque village. It’s also just a 5 minute stroll to three excellent restaurants, as well as a waterfront cafe. Linardos Apartments are a great place to relax and enjoy your vacation. Highly recommended.
I loved this hotel for our stay in Assos and would recommend it to all. Gorgeous terrace area for a lovely breakfast, beautiful pool and amazing sunset views from this area. All of the rooms also face this direction and have some balcony area which is really lovely. The inside was clean and spacious. We appreciated the nearby parking as well. This is a 5 minute walk to the town's center with several cute shops and restaurants to choose from. Also a close drive to Myrtos beach was perfect as well.
The property is based on the peninsula. The views from the apartment are absolutely unreal. We loved just sitting looking out at the sea, the sun and the moon. The apartment is very centrally located and very handy to get to the beaches, car parks and the marina itself. The hosts are the nicest people ever and very very friendly. Just 3/4 restaurants to eat out in Asos - a nice bakery and a couple of small shops. We enjoyed being able to have breakfast & lunch on the balcony.
Lovely location just off the main harbour of beautiful Assos. If you’re looking for a quiet romantic spot the pool is perfect for watching the sunset behind the castle and enjoying a glass of Kefalonian wine!
Tasos is super helpful in offering hints and tips about Northern Kefalonia’s beaches, restaurants and beautiful hotspots.
Also, they have really good mountain bikes available to hire for free, which makes for an amazing cycle up to Assos Castle, to watch the sunset!
stunning views, exceptional service and good location for walking into the town of Asos, snorkeling in the bay, and exploring the Venetian castle just down the road. Also, the owners are both chefs so the included breakfast is delicious. we highly recommend the private dinner they offer for a romantic treat but bring your appetite. we ate until we were stuffed and still had leftovers for 3 more meals. Everything was still delicious cold. #foodyheaven.
The property is absolutely gorgeous with amazing views of the Ionian Sea. Breakfast is served on the terrace overlooking and delicious. Top marks for all of the facilities and hotel itself. In a way, the hotel reflects the wonderful owners for whom nothing is too much effort to ensusre you have a great time. It's very rare to meet people as lovely as Vaso and Vasillis and we can't thank them enough for making our holidays truly magical.
Asos is incredible and Villa Pelagos has literally the best location in the village. The views from the terrace are out of this world. The bay below the cliffs is like the biggest private swimming pool ever (and yes, there is a way down). We spent many hours just listening to the waves and cicadas.
The house is very well appointed and the owners are delightful and attentive. You’ll want for nothing.
We booked Vassilis Retreat as a last minute stay (we had been based for one week in Lixouri) as we wanted to sightsee around Asos. This boutique hotel is perfectly located, well organised and our room was truly amazing. The views of Asos, coupled with the size and layout of our room was 10/10/10/. It was a truly magical stay and I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone.
Fantastic location with beautiful views of picturesque Asos harbor and beach from the large balcony - very enjoyable to sit outside at night and people watch! The hosts are very friendly and welcoming and will personally show you your rooms. Good price for Asos, which is generally a little more expensive given the lack of places to stay. Air conditioning is very good.
I could not recommend this accommodation any more. The stay for the price seemed really great. Comfortable rooms, amazing view, good facilities and the gentleman who checked us in was really delightful and a great laugh.
The location is also really good as you can walk everywhere with walking distance.
This really contribute to an awesome stay in Asos
Good location in the lovely and quiet town of Asos.
The apartment was well kept, good size and cleaned every day. Sheets were changed regularly as well which was a nice touch. The bed mattress was very comfortable. The host was very friendly and always happy to recommend places to visit or see 😊
Thank you again for making our stay so lovely!
This was a lovely little hotel and very reasonably priced. We had the most fantastic view from our balcony overlooking beautiful Assos. Our room was on the top floor and was immaculate. We were minutes from the beach and restaurants and we walked each morning to the top of the castle and back. The owner Socrates is very friendly and helpful.
Two words: the view. The apartment really lives up to it's name. It's located high enough to see the village of Asos down below but in the same time a mere 5 minute walk to the beach, restaurants and shops. We brought our own breakfast to eat outside on the balcony while overlooking the village and sea. Highly recommended.
Amazing, clean and very comfortable rooms. Kristos and his wife are so charming and friendly - we had some lovely home made cake waiting for us.
Breathtaking views over wonderful, peaceful asos.
