About this property

Luxurious Riverfront Cabin on the Frying Pan River - 1 block to Basalt

Luxurious Riverfront Log Cabin located directly on the banks of the Frying Pan River. The Guest Cabin is located on the same property as Lodge at River's Edge and consists of a fully equipped kitchen, living room with cable TV and wireless internet, a bedroom with a queen bed and an open air loft with two twin beds. There is also a pull out sofa in the Living Room.

The cabin was originally built by Colorado Midland Railroad workers in 1896, it was restored a century later in 1996. The cabin was renovated again in 2005 and 2015 . The cabin is decorated in an elegant mountain style and includes luxurious linens, comfy robes, down pillows, radiant in-floor heating, fireplace and all the amenities you would expect at a nice hotel. The sliding glass door opens up to the views and sounds of the Frying Pan River rushing by. The cabin guests' are welcome to fish on the Frying Pan River in front of the cabin and also upriver towards the main lodge.

The cabin interior was recently remodeled in 2015 and again in 2018 - we replaced the ladder with a gorgeous custom staircase to the loft. Additionally, the kitchen has been remodeled with granite counter tops, stainless appliances, and wood flooring throughout. Other additions include A/C, washer/dryer, dishwasher and an upgraded bathroom with walk in shower and double vanities. No details has been overlooked.

The cabin is located only one block to the charming town of Basalt. It is a beautiful, quick 1 minute stroll to all the restaurants and shops located in town. There is a private flagstone sitting area for the cabin guests to relax next to the River. The cabin sits just 10 feet from the banks of the Frying Pan River!!

Fall leaf peeping, fishing, painting and relaxing
This is a great location. Close to town but feels more remote. Easy walk to restaurants in town, short drives to fishing access and not too far from Aspen proper and Independence Pass. It is a small but comfortable cabin and nicely decorated. Picnic table and seating right out your door next to the creek. It is situated along the drive to the main house which you can see but felt private enough. They have very cute and friendly dogs who like to say hello. The freestanding gas fireplace heats up the cabin nicely on chilly evenings. There was both a Keurig and drip coffeemakers. The drip has a built in grinder so can take whole or preground beans. It was perfect for the two of us for a few days away to take in he sights, fish, paint and relax.

Awesome cabin very close to town!!!
My nephew and I really enjoyed our stay. The cabin location is convenient and a very short walk to downtown Basalt. it had everthing we needed and more. We loved having the windows open and hearing the water from the river. I met the owners and they were very nice and helpful. The dog visits were an extra bonus!!!! Thank you for letting us enjoy your lovely cabin.

Favorite Trip
We look forward to this trip every year. From my fly fishing husband to my teenage son to my little daughter we all enjoy being here! Walking in to town for breakfast, having wine by the riverboat night. It’s very cozy and a perfect family trip or romantic trip for two. I’m torn between telling people how wonderful it is or not telling anyone to keep it a secret! I don’t return many places that we travel because I always love something new. This is my one exception….. love it

Why they chose this property

Lodge at River's Edge was purchased and extensively remodeled in 2005 and again in 2015. It is a family owned and operated business. We take pride in providing luxurious accommodations along with the beautiful surroundings. No where else in this Valley are you able to find a riverfront setting where the river literally runs past your front door. Plus you are only a 1/2 block from downtown Basalt. It's the best of both worlds. You can enjoy cocktails on the riverfront terrace and then walk into Basalt for great dining and music.
