We really appreciated the helpful communication with the provider and the accommodations – extremely clean and comfy beds. We had a bit of a challenge finding the front door, but the provider sent a text with a photo and even met us to make things simpler. Overall, an outstanding stay and highly recommend.

The view of La Spezia and the harbor below was spectacular. Rooms are large with balconies that over look the city and harbor. The restaurant was classy and offered a wonderful dinner menu. The food was well prepared and delicious.
Breakfast was all that we could hope for!
They have a beautiful infinity pool that you can take the view in from as well.

La Spezia is one of those typical cities of the Liguria Region where colourful houses cover hills and cliffs, providing panoramic views over the sea. Thousands of years of history and a heart open towards the sea have shaped the character of this town surrounded by the 'Cinque Terre'.
Located on the coast of the namesake gulf, its proximity to Genoa has greatly influenced its development and culture. Take a walk uphill from the harbour, and admire the display of architectonic styles in the Old Town. Some of the best hotels in La Spezia are located here, while elegant guesthouses and villas with gulf views can be found in the highest areas.
Must-see sites in the city are the 13th-century Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and St George’s Castle. The ‘Sea Festival’ is organized every summer, and its highlight is the rowing competition ‘Palio del Golfo’, a race between the 13 villages of the gulf. Departing from the port of La Spezia, boats can take you to the enchanted ‘Cinque Terre’.
The harbour is a 15-minute walk from La Spezia Central Station, and Genoa’s Cristoforo Colombo Airport is 105 km away. While planning your trip, check out Booking.com’s accommodation deals in La Spezia.

La Spezia is mildly interesting in an of itself and has good restaurants and shops, but for many tourists it is mainly a good place to stay when visiting Cinque Terre (the 5 towns to the north) by train. The train ride is quick and cheap.

My wife and I spent two days in La Spezia and were left with a very pleasant impression of the city. It's cozy, easy to explore, and full of charming cafés and restaurants. One of the highlights of our visit was the Naval Technical Museum, which we found particularly fascinating.

La Spezia is a very pleasant city and the NH hotel there is very convenient and comfortable. And a short walk along the waterfront to the ferry boats that take you to visit the charming little ports of Cinque Terre.

We are so glad we followed recommendations to stay in La Spezia rather than Cinque Terre. The train ride from La Spezia is only 10-15 minutes from the C.T. towns, less expensive than staying in C.T. and also had its own charm with a small downtown area with restaurants, bars, shopping and stores (pharmacies, convenience stores). We stumbled upon a farmers market on a Wednesday morning. Took a 90-minute sunset HopHop boat tour, which was so fun and the coastline was beautiful.

Nice central area with a beehive of activity from both locals and tourist. Enjoyed watching the kids playing ball in the plazas and families strolling around eating a gelato. Most everyone was friendly and willing to assist with directions and information.
Had a tasty lunch at Pesto Fiore, and mentioned to the Chef that when I make my Pesto Lasagna on the Yachts that I Chef on, that I use a higher ratio of pesto than he did, showing him the photo. When I paid my bill, I wasn't paying attention, but later on, I noticed that he did not charge for my plate, because he knew that his lasagna, was not my favorite version.
He earned my repeat business...

Definitely a town to use as a base for the Cinque Terra moreso than to walk around and explore. The town itself is not very nice and didn't have much to offer. I wouldn't recommend it for any longer than required and certainly not to holiday in

The apartment was quite large & clean. Pretty straightforward and easy check-in instructions. Yes there are about 100 stairs to reach the property but they really aren’t so bad (they are wide stairs). Plus most hotels will require stairs in La Spezia. Once you drop your luggage you can walk more freely and the stairs are not so bad.
This is in a good location as it is only about a 10 minute walk to the train station & the main strip for restaurants and shopping.
Overall, Alberto Teatro was a nice accommodation, especially for the affordable price. We had 1 room with a shared bathroom and the facilities were all very clean. Staff was accommodating with check in and check out times. The hotel was in a great location in La Spezia, walkable to the train station. Good value for money.
A modern room, looked nice, lights where strong, shower was good. Location next to the middle of the main pedestrian street with all the restaurants and shops. 10 minutes walk to train. Felt like a 4 or 5 stars hotel room and was reasonably priced. Host gave a map and all the information. Check out done independently.
The budget boutique hotel is quaint, quirky and clean. Great location in the centre of La Spezia with all amenities nearby. Short walk to the train station or to the posrt for the boat to Cinque Terre. Our room was compact with comfortable beds. Guglielmo and Anna were lovely hosts.
