Breathtaking sceneries, enjoyed meeting other tourists from different countries. My daughters love shopping at the boutique stores. There are so many restaurants to choose from, we particularly ate at the Vietnamese and Japanese restaurants.

Terrible customer service at the reception. My card was charged 3 times for the authorization and then again for the stay even though I clearly mentioned that I wanted to pay with a different card. Old hotel with old facilities, no even bottled water in the room.

Since there is no internet/ cell service for most of our trip its important to have a plan. Reserve where you will stay before you arrive. $2 roam public busses take you from most campgrounds and hotels downtown every hour :see the schedules. In Canada you can even reserve these little tent buildings with bunk beds. Parking is free at the train station walkable to town and roam buses take you there $2 fom most all hotels and campgrounds. . Internet is fast and strong there. they have maps bathrooms and water. Many tour buses leave from here: also the Brewster tours ( expensive) pick you up from various bus stops in town if you have reservations. From the train station there is an IGA grocery and shell gas station a few blocks you can grab a cheap sandwich & drink . There are small grocery stores walkable in town. Many restaurants. My favorite was actually the peak Cafe vietnamese :delish and affordable spring rolls : soup: banh mi sub sandwiches) : rice bowls . The canada information center was confusing to us as we didnt understand the difference.between what was run by the Canadian park ( cheapest) or the public roam bus ( inexpensive) or private tour companies ( expensive and kind of predatory- but understandable for moving : thousands of confused tourists daily to various locations ) The staff didnt seem interested in explaining that. Good contacts: www.reservations.pc.gc.ca : 877 737 3783. . if you get confused: go back to the train station for internet/ cell service.

Banff was excellent, relaxing great trails to enjoy.

Banff was excellent, relaxing great trails to enjoy. My spouse and Ibeoukd seriously consider changing from Mexico for our yearly vacation to banff. But place to stay is so expensive in the warmer months July and August. $2,100 for 5 nights plus food travel entertainment is more expensive than Mexico.

    This place is amazing.

This place is amazing. I'm glad that devleopment seems to have been controlled somewhat and the natural beauty here is stunning. But, I was here on an 'off' season and it was still busy, IMO. I cannot imagine dealing with the crowds during busier times, and I'd avoid that if possible. That said, the international tourists and locals here were very friendly and respectful.

We went during the shoulder season in May and beat the crowd. We rented a car and luckily avoided some parking fees that don't take affect until mid may. The weather was great and although we didn't get the chance to see Moraine Lake, we got the chance to see Lake Louise. In Banff, the town is very charming and you can't help but to just wonder and eventually end up hiking the nearby trails. We went Horseback riding and got to see some great views and had the chance to dine and drink at the Fairmont Hotel which offers incredible views of the landscape. If you get the chance, sign up for the Alberta Tours "Eat the Castle"! It's a great way to try the food at the Fairmont Hotel and learn about the history of Banff, plus the food focuses on important food known to Alberta/Canada!

Comfy hotel right in the center of Banff with a nice "Alpine" look and feel. The location could not have been better - right in pedestrian only Bear Street with shops and restaurants all around. Our room was spacious and well appointed. Included breakfast was a nice touch.

We liked the location, it is close to downtown but not right in front of it where it becomes crowded. So it is a good balance. The style of the hotel is nice and we love that they are pet friendly. We also liked the restaurant.
