This is a wonderful hotel! The staff are extremely accommodating, even walking us to our room to show us the way. The included breakfast has many Italian pastries and was delicious. The rooms were very well done, even featuring chandeliers made by murano glass makers! The hotel is a converted monestary and the bar is in the former chapel, providing a wonderful backdrop, and the garden outside is green and beautiful. They also have baggage storage available on site. Additionally, hotel is a couple of minutes from the train station, making the location very convenient.

It was just a beautiful and upscale stay in Venice. The view was beautiful right on the canal and with sunset I enjoyed just staying in the room and watching it. It’s super convenient that they have someone at the desk. They are all so helpful around the clock. They have helped me with my stay it’s honestly so worth it. For example, I left my toothbrush behind as I was leaving for my next country. I called them a couple weeks later and asked if they found it. They said yes and sent me all the directions to properly send my toothbrush back to my home in the states. They said “we are at your service” really feels like a trustworthy business. I will 100% stay here in my next time in Venice as I come every summer. This place is worth it. Since it’s right next to the train station. Plus the bus station that takes you to and from the airport. Just such a gem

Our recent stay at Hotel A La Commedia in Venice was simply wonderful. The staff was excellent from the moment we arrived until we checked out. They were consistently friendly and incredibly responsive to all our needs. A special shout-out goes to Daniel on the rooftop. He made us feel extra special during our visit to the rooftop bar. A big thank you, Daniel, Venice is truly lucky to have you! The location of the hotel is very good, making it an ideal base for exploring Venice. It's centrally located, providing easy access to Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square, both just a short walk away. Being so close to key attractions meant we could maximize our time seeing the sights and easily return to the hotel for a break. You're also perfectly situated to discover the charming labyrinth of canals and side streets that make Venice so unique.

This hotel was perfect for our (2 of us) 5 night Venice stay. It is situated in the very heart of the Cannaregio district but down a little alley which made it a quiet reprieve from the busy streets. The second and third floors have been newly remodeled and immaculately cleaned. Right behind the hotel (but accessed via another alley) is a public park with some swings for the kids and a little green space. There are plenty of excellent restaurants within a stone's throw and the staff was always kind and smiling. Our flight was canceled the morning of our departure which required another two days in Venice and they quickly accomodated us. The continental breakfast was delicious. We will definitely book there again should we ever get to visit Venice again.

    It was quite crowded 7/7-7/9/25.

It was quite crowded 7/7-7/9/25. We only spent one full day there for sightseeing. We did the Doge Palace & the Basilica with a private guide. Excellent! (About 3.5 hrs) Then a Gondola Ride. Don't forget a little shopping & restaurants! We also had a storm in the evening on our busy day. Not enough time for Murano & Burano. Those islands will take a full half day, 4.5 hrs and in the summer the heat, it's very draining. I think 2 full days of sightseeing are actually required to see everything; or at least more than we did. We took a boat the airport!

Venice is a must in your travel list although it has changed a lot since the last time a visit. It’s a lot more commercial but still, a must see. Plan a short stay, research your restaurants and hotels, the place itself can be affordable if you plan properly. You can move around easily by public transport. Leave your car outside Venice. I would avoid taking small children if your trip is during summer. It gets too hot and its hard to move around with babies, prams and young people.

It’s crowded in the main areas but it is possible to explore the back ‘streets’ if you want to avoid all the crowds. It’s a unique place that simply has to be seen. People always comment on how expensive Venice is but in our experience it didn’t seem any more expensive than other main cities in the world.

We had a great time in Venice.

We had a great time in Venice. We toured the Doge's Palace, the cathedral, Murano, Burano, had a great food tour, and attended a fun Baroque concert (with musicians in period costumes). Great restaurants, friendly people, and easy transport with the vaporettos. Tip: Just take narrow streets and wander. You will see some amazing views and get to parts of Venice that most tourists never see. Get off the Grand Hotel and get lost. You will better see why people love to visit Venice.

Go as early as possible to attractions before the crowds descend: we were only staying three nights but found the two day vaporetto pass great value and convenience. When you're blind and wrecked from sight-seeing and wandering, get out to a beach on the Lido and relax.

I had the pleasure of staying in this charming and intimate hotel in an absolutely fantastic location. It's just a 3-minute walk from the water taxi station, a mere minute from St. Mark's Square, and the gondola stop is conveniently right outside. The hotel boasts a unique style that beautifully captures the essence of Venice. The rooms are not only stylish but also impeccably clean, a rarity in Italy. The prime location added to the overall enjoyment of my stay. It was truly perfect, so I extend my sincere thanks!

This was our best hotel stay in Italy. It is a beautiful traditional hotel in the heart of Venice. The room was tasteful, clean and extremely comfy with a lovely bathroom with great shower. The breakfast was excellent and the staff friendly and courteous (thank you Grace). It is located within walking distance to all the sights and just 50m from the Vaporetto (bus Route 1 and couple of stops from the trainstation). It was very quiet at night and we slept like logs. Highly recommended.

Great location on the canal. The owner, Jennifer, was lovely. She was very informative and recommended a restaurant that we would have just bypassed. It turned out that it was the best meal we ended up having in our whole stay in Italy. Our flight home wasn’t until late but the hotel allowed us to store our bags at the property.
