Extremely conveniently located right by the train station which ended up making it close to a meeting point for a tour we had which started early. We didn’t have to walk too far with bags coming to Florence and leaving Florence. We got a room with a nice city view.

A lovely place to wander round without paying to go in the museums, though we did go to the uffizi. Cafe culture very relaxing though watch for biting creatures at mid june. You can wear your best dress and not look out of place! Comfortable footwear is a must as there is big stone paving and there are waterbottle refill stations. Go on a withlocals.com tour and find that Florence has a sense of humour! Relaxing atmosphere if you dont do too much bucket list ticking, its not neccesary as eandering the streets is enough. We had a balcony to our room and it was lovely listening to the church bells in the morning. Loved every minute. Signorevino has the best wine and is reasonably priced.

Book the skip the queue tours as waiting times can be quite lengthy at many of the popular attractions.
Avoid taxis if you can as they can run away with a lot of your cash and prices are variable due to unscrupulous taxi drivers.
Organised food tour was a highlight.

The best thing is that you can walk everywhere… walking and stopping for a food, walking and stopping for a drink … it’s nice to get lost in the small side streets. Hugo Spritz or Negroni are the recommended cocktails. And, of course, homemade pasta : it’s difficult to find a not good one :-)
You must be prepared for crowds though, everybody wants to see the same.

Florence is amazing - the history and beauty of the buildings and art are phenomenal. However, I would not recommend going in June. We based our trip around my grand-daughter's school schedule and so had to go in June. It was very hot which made the trip hard. We knew it was going to be hot and dealt with it, but if you have a choice, go another time.

Beautiful city!
Beautiful city! Personally I think il Duomo is far more spectacular from the outside (although I didn't climb the dome) whilst la Basilica del Croce is far more spectacular inside, only 10 mins walk away, no queues and famous tombs such as Galileo Michaelangelo, Macchiavelli... So much to see and do, felt safe and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed the opera themed concerts I attended in the evenings in beautiful church buildings! Very easy to be vegan!

Cynthia was a fantastic with us from the moment we arrived to when we left. Came in early to make us breakfast before we left and gave loads of recommendations for Florence and Italy for our stay. Would definitely come back as the place was spotless and the room was big for our need. Air conditioning was fantastic during the heatwave and great wifi. Location is perfect as the train station is 2 minutes away and the best pasta restaurant in Florence is down the street. Would definitely visit and stay here again
This is by far the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Italy. The staff were incredibly polite, attentive, and always willing to help — even after I had already checked out. The room was spotless, beautifully renovated, and offered a perfect blend of comfort and style. The location is exceptional, within walking distance of everything Florence has to offer. And the rooftop pool with its breathtaking panoramic view over the entire city was simply unforgettable. A truly outstanding experience from start to finish!
Wow! What a Fantastic treasure is this place in the best location in Florence. Very clean, vary spacious, super quiet. Even though you are 2 min from Ponte Vecchio, you can not hear any sounds due to double glass windows. Great A/C in the bedrooms to cool down in hit summer days. I've never stayed in a hotel in Italy with such a spacious bathroom. Large bath towls. Top quality vanities. I like the hardwood floors as it keeps everything clean too.
The hotel is my favorite one during the trip in Italy. Good location to all the tourists sites and also quiet to sleep. The apartment is well-decorated and all the furniture is elegant and beautiful. And the staff here is very friendly and considerate. I will choose this place for staying if I will go to Florence next time.
The staff at Hotel Rapallo went above and beyond for us, helping us with our bags, recommending delicious restaurants, and providing the best service that we had during our time in Italy. The bed was supremely comfy, the location was central to most of the sights in Florence, and we could not have been happier.
