I live here part time so ... a little different angle than a visitor. This spot is actually right in front of my house (which I had rented out thinking we would be out of town) I love it, it's down a ways and quieter , closer to the nice beaches. However, you will want a car or ride share to get around and get stuff. There is an Oxxo and abbarotes store up the hill for basics. But those who want to get out and walk to restaurants and the malecon might want to stay elsewhere. It's an awesome walk to the malecon but not for everyone, a mile down (and back up) a steep hill. Lots of decent restaurants around, the one closest to here would be El Molinito and a great place for breakfast would be Vrentino in the Hotel El Moro. Many love the drinks and you can even pick up fruit at Cocos y Pinas Locas .

La Pazis a low-rise city with the cathedral and a few hotels poking their heads up.
It is definitely not Cabo, and that’s the way the locals like it and why we liked it. Mexico in general isn’t the bargain it used to be—where is?—but as Canadians it compared with prices at home.
We visited El Coromuel beach twice. Balandra post Covid has rules governing the number of people and Tecolote is a challenge to get to if like us you don’t have a car. But Ubers are real cheap.
A shout out to Allende Books, an English language bookstore where the attentive Sylvie is happy to chat. We even played and sang with a group of geezer guitarists who meet every Saturday at 1pm. Very welcoming group 😄
The fact that it’s difficult to get to with no Canadian airlines flying in meant we had to absorb the extra expense of hiring a car and driver from Day Trip. But it was worth it to have met Jose who could not have been more courteous and informative. Through him we were so fortunate to attend an amazing choir concert in the cathedral. Never to be forgotten.
Despite the challenge of getting there, we loved the place and the people. We are already planning to return, this time for a bit longer.

Stayed in L.P. in February during the Carnival: lots of people, entertainment/music and all types of food sold along the length of Malecon every evening. Felt very safe anywhere I went.
Daily excursions to Balandra/El Tecolote and hiking the surrounding hills were a highlight.
Temperatures in mid 20s C; water in the ocean pleasant enough to enjoy a swim.

Vibrant seaside city in Baja Sur - with a low key atmosphere and a multitude of options for dining, entertainment and outdoor activities. A complete respite from Cabo and a much more authentic taste of Mexico. The waterfront malecon is the focus of the community and offers exceptional views (and sunsets) while the city and old town offer much to explore.
Beautiful beaches and numerous watersports to take advantage of in the immediate area. A great base for world class snorkeling/diving, wildlife (whales, whale sharks, sea lions) and adventure (hiking, sand boarding, ATV's, etc.)

La Paz was a really pleasant surprise.
La Paz was a really pleasant surprise. I hadn't done too much research before our travels, but found everything about the city to be simply delightful. The Malecon is amazing, and there seems to be some really interesting food, drink, art, music and culture for everyone - not just tourists. We really loved the energy of the whole town - with beautiful pristine beaches and amazing desert landscapes just a few minutes (by car!) away. We can't wait to come back.

I travels in May when the days are pretty hot, but the mornings and evenings are cool. People come out to exercise on the Malecon in the earlier mornings and families are out in the evenings enjoying the sea breeze.
Everything- boutique hotel with a wonderful restaurant attached and a poolside bar-Julio the bartender was very helpful with info and he makes excellent margaritas! Our room was perfect/ view of the ocean and Malecón. We couldn’t have asked for a better location and the parking was convenient. We felt safe and welcomed. Brenda at the front desk helped us so much and she is very professional. This was a scouting trip to check out La Paz and we plan on returning in April with all our family. It is welcoming and comfortable.
The location of Marea La Paz is well off the beaten path, but so worth it. It's out of the hustle of La Paz proper and within walking distance to an excellent local restaurant that we enjoyed several times.
The grounds are lovely. Artistic, inviting, very well-maintained and welcoming. The breakfast was amazing; the selections were wonderful and all of the staff were friendly and very professional. We thought the value was very good for such a lovely little gem of a hotel.
The location of the hotel is absolutely perfect: in front of the sea on Malecon.
Very close to the beach. There is good restaurant at the hotel and lots of restaurants nearby. And there was microwave in the hall, it's very convenient.
Actually I liked everything.
It was so peaceful and relaxing atmosphere in La Paz.
For sure I will stay in the hotel again.
The suite was quite spacious and had a fantastic bay view from the large balcony - with spectacular sunsets. Comfortable beds and living space, well equipped kitchen and a pool!. Hector (the owner/manager) was exceptional - friendly demeanor, knowledgeable on everything La Paz and always going above and beyond to make sure we were happy!
The jewel in this hotel is the roof top terrace & pool with incredible views of the city and the bay. The location was in a great spot...within walking distance to all the central La Paz sites and 4 blocks from the Malecon. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was tastefully decorated, and the bed was comfortable.
Amazing views from ocean view balcony... The location of the hotel was perfect! Great food on the 5th floor restaurant, with a beautiful vall around view of the city of La Paz and the Sea of Cortez. The staff were extrememly friendly and with my limited spanish, the communication went well with no problems.
Casa Bahia is a hidden gem, just a block up from the Malecon in a lovely neighborhood with cafes, restaurants and coffee shops. The rooms and the grounds evoke the spirit of La Paz. The murals and views of the sea are amazing. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive, without being intrusive.
This boutique hotel is beautiful and well maintained. I was going to get an upgrade to a bigger suite but I didn’t want to do stairs. Needless to say we stayed in a first floor room and the place was very welcoming. The beds downstairs were small and firm but we made it work.
Leanne and her team do a fabulous job making you feel right at home. This is the only beachfront option in La Paz - so we loved being right on the water. Breakfast is fabulous and the beds are super comfortable. All the water toys and supplies you need to enjoy the water.
The location was decent but not beachfront as described in the ad. The bed was comfy and the kitchen was well equipped. The bathroom fixtures worked but were all loose and/or falling off the wall. Everything looked pretty but not everything worked well.
this small boutique hotel is right on the malecon in front of the beach. it is spacious and beautifully decorated. there is a balcony for watching the sunset. it is walking distance to cafes and coffee shops.
the staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
The sea view (Right in front of the sea, just across the Malecon of La Paz), and the recent refurbishment of the room. We appreciated 2 bottles of water every day complimentary.
We liked the kitchen area with fridge and cooking plates.
The hotel was as advertised. Nice sized rooms. Staff was helpful. Breakfasts were excellent and they had a nice variety. Location is very central and easy to walk to most places on the malecon. We'd definitely stay here again.
Great location in La Paz. Apartment is well equipped, large and very comfortable. Great ocean view from large balcony and master bedroom. Host was very helpful and friendly. Pools and fitness room also face the ocean.
It was the second time we stayed at this hotel so we knew we liked it. The location is ideal, parking is good, the pool with bar is excellent, and the free breakfast is top-notch. It's not cheap, but it's worth it.
Location was very close to the waterfront. Able to Walk to cafes, restaurants. Malecon, marina. Neigh bourhood is a little rough (as is much of la Paz)
