Comfortable room with great view over the harbour. The Old Inn is handy for evening meals. They offer a very varied breakfast buffet. I loved the idea of an honesty bar. I must try that next time.

From the heady scent of fresh lilies in the entryway, to all the artwork on the walls to the matching copper coat hangers and wall sconces, every bit of our stay was a delight to all our senses. Gairloch Sands Youth Hostel, hotel in Gairloch

A lochside lodge, sitting on the northern shore of Loch Gairloch, with sea and mountain views and easy access to sandy beaches.

Lovely hostel with character and really friendly and helpful staff. I loved all the plants they have (gives it a homely feel), and books games and local info in the lounge. Lovely location and great price.

Shieldaig Lodge Hotel, hotel in Gairloch

On the shores of Loch Gairloch, Shieldaig Lodge is one of the few remaining traditional Highland shooting Lodges open to the public.

I had been out on the hills in Torridon and due to poor weather on the hills I arrived about 2 hours after the time I had previously indicated on my booking. When I checked in I said that I assumed that I was too late for dinner and was told that the chef could do me a meat and cheese platter in the bar. The meal was excellent. At check in I explained that I needed to leave as soon as soon as possible after breakfast. At breakfast it was the same lady that had been at reception the previous evening and she did an excellent job in providing my breakfast as quickly as possible. The location is stunning and I will return again for a family visit.

Poolewe Hotel, hotel in Gairloch

Set in 16th-century coaching inn, the Poolewe Hotel overlooks Loch Ewe and Inverewe’s botanical gardens. Local produce is served in Poolewe’s restaurant.

We had a spacious room with a large window overlooking the sea. We could open windows to let in fresh air. The full breakfast served was very good. We were able to have dinner in the restaurant also.

Self Catering Spacious 2 Bed Apartment with sea views, hotel in Gairloch

Self Catering Spacious 2 Bed Apartment with sea views is located in South Erradale, just 13 miles from Victoria Falls and 16 miles from Inverewe Garden.

Brilliant apartment with everything you could possibly need. Very homely, it was a nice touch to even have a Christmas tree due to the time of year. Host was very accommodating to my late arrival and early departure (work commitments) and even pre het the apartment for me coming. Would 100% stay again if I was in the area.

Great place with spectacular, inspiring scenery, a nice little town with good facilities, nice cafe and farm shop as well as an excellent museum. The only downside when we visited was the local chippy only opened on Thursday, Friday and Saturday!😊

Gairloch is an easily accessed centre from which to explore the western Highlands; it also has some very acceptable sandy beaches. There are plenty of hotels and B&Bs in Gairloch, but many are closed in winter.

The beach and camp site along the road was absolutely lovely, we paid £4 to park at the camp sight and took a lovely walk around the sight and the beach, definitely worth a look plenty for children to go there

Glass bottomed boat trip to see the seals highly recommended. Knowledgeable skipper who allowed some of the children to drive the boat and earn a certificate. Gairloch Museum, in a former nuclear bunker, is really well laid out and interesting for adults and children. The café is great too, with a view from its terrace. Don't miss Inverewe Garden, and allow several hours to walk around this surprising collection of trees & plants which really shouldn't be able to thrive here! Great views too.

    The accommodation here is amazing.

The accommodation here is amazing. It has friendly staff and the most beautiful view, from the lounge room it has one of the most breath-taking views in all of Scotland. The hostel is remote from the main town (think car / not walk), but the caravan park is close enough to walk (15 mins). We experienced an unexpected 5 star dining experience at this restaurant and ate like kings!

Booked the family room for two adults and a four year old. The second bed was a single so definitely enough room for the three of us. The bathroom was a good size and room looked out over the lake. Plenty of parking at the hotel. The grounds and area around the hotel offer great scenery. The food there was excellent. We had the “tasting menu” with matching wines for dinner and is really worth trying. The staff were all very helpful and accommodating.

The view across lovely loch Gairloch from our first floor window. The outside seating was a great place to eat our fish & chips from the chippy just up the road We also appreciated the use of fridge and microwave, with some crockery and cutlery provided. The host, Ian, took a lot of trouble to message us and make sure we could access the property.

From the outside the hotel is an attractive old building in a beautiful location overlooking the water. The staff we met were all lovely and extremely hard working. Everywhere was clean and the staff took care to clean tables etc. between customers. The food was ok but ordinary. Our room and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable.

The hotel is lovely and it’s in a very pretty and remote part of Scotland. The room was very comfortable, the restaurant was amazing and staff was very pleasant. It is quite a fancy experience and a bit on the high-end side of things. However, there is no reception in the area and wi-fi doesn’t work anywhere apart from the reception.

Lovely location in Gairloch, only a five minute drive from the pier for excursions. Emma was a great host with lots of breakfast options, with a lovely modern and clean room overlooking the bay. Living room was nice spot to hang out in the evening, and a few options for dinner within walking distance too. Would come again!

A truly lovely and very comfortable cottage in good location with beautiful views over the bay in Gairloch, a scenic, remote spot in Scotland's north. Spotless clean with everything provided a guest can wish for. Friendly owners. A true gem and feel good place.

We appreciated the space and cleanliness of the room. The owners of this B&B are very kind (once again thanks for everything!). They think of everything. This B&B is also very close to the starting points of some interesting hikes near Gairloch.

Accommodation is very close to Gairloch port, beach and town centre. Gairloch is a really nice place and a good 'basecamp' for exploring the Western highlands. Mobile phone service at the accommodation was fairly good, as was the TV and DVD.
