An area full of medieval history and well-known legends in the heart of Transylvania. Lots and lots of things to see, places to visit and experiences to try. The natural beauty of the mountains, landscapes and old villages full of traditions makes this place a gem. Very close to many other historical attractions, adventures, natural beauties or culinary attractions.

The main attraction there is Dracula Castle, which I believe is over commercialist, thanks to the writer Bram Stoker. There are a plethora of stalls selling local products as well as food. Personally, I`d rather be somewhere else like Cheile Gradistei, Fundata, or Moeciu de Sus where nature is at its best offering postcard pictures of the mountain.

Bran is definitely a tourist town.
Bran is definitely a tourist town. However, it is also a historic town. The castle is the main attraction and it is well worth a visit. We visited a few days before Halloween and it was packed with tour groups and families. There are markets in town, both at the foot of the castle. One is located right by the entrance and it consists of local souvenirs. The other one is across the street and it has good made by local artisans.
The views in the town are breathtaking. If you don't mind a busy tourist town, Bran is worth a visit for the history and the amazing views.
Parking around the castle can be a nightmare so getting accommodations within walking distance is highly recommended.

This was my first trip to Romania and I decided to keep a room in Bucharest while I traveled to Bran for two days thinking I would want to spend more time in Bucharest. However it has been the opposite. I should have stayed an extra day in Bran. Bran is very close to Brasov so you can get there in 30 minutes, even can use Uber. However, I recommend renting a car. You can pick up the car from train station if renting on Expedia as I did. I say spend more time because I got to Brasov and got the car. Parked near the Black Church and walked the square/ plaza area. This was incredible in and of itself. But after eating I headed to Bran and to my hotel (which was great). I could stay in Bran and see that view every day. But the next day I toured the Bran castle and then drove to Pele’s Castle and the Cantacuzino castle. By the time I returned to Bran was 6 pm. Perfect you might say, I saw everything in a day. Wrong. The next morning I got up and walked to the other side of the castle (down the street) and took pictures. I then drove to a place with views of the countryside. I had no time for anything else as I went back to Brasov ate lunch and left on the train back to Bucharest. Would have been better for more time in Brasov but even more so to explore other towns around Bran (within 2 hours) and to drive the Transfagarasan highway which is considered the most beautiful road in the world. (You need 8 hrs round trip to be able to do this drive from Bran so an extra day just for this) Also, white water rafting and hiking the Transylvanian Alps would have been cool.
Note in Bran there are a lot of places to eat. Most hotels have a restaurant and then the standalone restaurants (only two of these) can stay open later for a late night drink as well. There are shops to pick up snacks and groceries as well. And there are a ton of souvenir shops outside of the entrance to castle. (Which is just behind a couple of restaurants along the road)

Typical tourist center.
Typical tourist center. Near the market where you can buy souvenirs, wine, honey, Romanian national food and clothes. There are restaurants and cafes, pharmacies. Everything is nearby. I would like to improve the pavement for pedestrians in the tourist center and in the market, for example, lay paving slabs or asphalt.

VERY touristy.
VERY touristy. But I came here for the Halloween party at the castle, so that makes sense. I also think Elon Musk's arrival had everybody in a bustle. That may have been part of the crowd craziness.
Nice and relatively modern rooms. Rooms and all other facilities very very clean, which was great. Room was worm and heating was already on (start of October stay). Breakfasts were AMAZING!!! We stayed in 6 different hotels during our 9 days trip in Romania and this one (by far) had most amazing food. Free parking in front was a great plus. Also, it's only 5 minutes drive from Bran, which is super handy too.
This place was super cool, the owner was friendly, communicated well, and was very accommodating. I love the design, layout, and look of Bran Chalet. The antlers on the walls, the bearskin rug, the wood patio furniture, the fine selection of Dracula wines....and all the pics I posed made my friends jealous that I was at such a cool place and could see Dracula's Castle. We'll be back for sure!
We highly recommend this place! We will for sure return! Located right next to the river, the garden and its facilities are amazing! The house is fully equipped with all you need! The interior design is amazing and with good taste! The hosts were very friendly, helpful and responsive! Also, it is a 6 minute walk to bran castle! Overall, it was a perfectly splendid stay!
This hotel is in an ideal location for Bran Castle
But above this was the welcome I received. I would like to compliment you and your entire staff for being so professional. Always a smile on their faces, they were really very impressive.
The room was clean and very comfortable.
Food was good and great value for money and service was attentive and efficient.
Thank you
Beautiful hotel near Dracula´s castle. Actually, we left out car at the hotel and walked to the castle, it was less than 10 min away.
The view from our terrace was amazing, you could see Dracula´s castle at night, which was even better that seeing it during the day.
The room was big and comfortable. We really had a great time at this place.
We had the most phenomenal stay! Every single little detail, the decor, the service, the team who work here were all beyond exceptional. And the added bonus of the most remarkable view of the castle. If you are lucky to have the opportunity to visit Bran, this hotel is an absolute must-stay.
The strong points of the hotel: it is very close to the Bran castle, it has parking in the yard with enough places, clean rooms with facilities corresponding to a 3-star hotel. Check-in was done in record time. I had booked 3 single rooms and all had double beds. The TV had many channels.
It was a wonderful experience! We booked a Dracula room and loved it! Very close to the castle and local market with souvenirs. Restaurant next door was a pleasant addition for the trip, where we had a great dinner. Definitely will come back. Thank you for the hospitality Casa Din Bran.
We really liked this accommodation, everything was well done and comfortable. And also, everything is done in a traditional style. There is an excellent restaurant on the ground floor.
It is located a 10-minute walk from the main attraction of the city - Bran Castle.
The accomodation is close to Bran castle which makes it really comfortable if you enjoy going for a stroll in the city. The rooms are recently renovated, well heated and have nice views. Also the bed is really comfy.
The receptionist was very nice to us. Thank you. 😊
Very clean and beautiful room, from the loggia view of the castle (the view is incredible). There is a playground for children and a river near the house. I am very pleased with this hotel! Recommend 100%
Nice room. owner is very pleasant. very clean. kitchen is equipped with almost everything possible. feels like home. nice quiet surroundings, 5 minutes walk from Bran castle.
We had a very clean room with a large balcony. The house is located in the center of the village, so that good teraces and Bran Castle were at a short walk distance.
