Hey there – I have a question – what is the widget or plug in you used for the ‘notify me of comments via email’ functionality? Would love to add to my blog – but don’t know where to find it.

Plus – in a later post you mentioned that you hired someone for SEO work. Can you provide any more info on what something like that costs? I know that you said you put in a request and then people bid on the work, however I”m just curious to understand a ballpark cost of what something like that would cost.

Oh yes, Sherri. We are definitely struggling along. I will keep you all posted on Unique Article Wizard. I don’t think I will see a change for at least a month though.

Also – I too am a bit mystified with SU – working on it, and I do get some referrals, but not sure how, why etc!

Sounds like you guys are making great progress – I”m jealous that you have the time to focus on it! Thanks for your insight into the unique article wizard – may give it a look. It’s just nice to know that others are out there struggling along trying to understand all of this like me! I also was getting those weird questions from people I didn’t know and figured it was some kind of spam thing. I guess sometimes it’s good to be untrusting…yet it could be why I’m still single!
Keep the great posts coming – you two are the best!

One thing that I have noticed is that since I started using su.pr, I have seen more traffic from stumble. I don’t know if it has anything to do with it, but that is why we keep using it.

Well, I am glad that I am not the only one struggling with SU. Marina is right, top bloggers swear by it, that is why I keep trying. If I make any headway I will let you know.
I am still new to Unique Article Wizard, so I wouldn’t take my word for anything yet as I too am still figuring it out as well. However, once again top bloggers love it and use it and it seems to a good tool to get articles out there on the internet. I am hoping I will see results in the next month so that I can share my experience with you.

I can’t figure out Stumble Upon to save my life:) I’ve done a bunch of research and simply can’t understand the benefits of it. yet, if you read some of the top bloggers they swear by it.
so if anyone can do a step by step explanation, I’d love that!

I’ve gotten some strange emails and comments, especially lately, but I think that happens with more exposure. I’m skeptical now when I get messages from people I don’t know (and I hate having to be that way) but usually after a message or two can get a pretty good idea of the person and how to respond.

I’ve been on the fence about using Unique Article Wizard – think I’ll give it a shot after hearing your thoughts.

Also, I still can’t figure out SU and I’ve been using it for more than a year. I want to get better at it but I don’t find that particular service that intuitive.

Marina, Thank you for the advice on where to file my complaint and Trish, thanks for letting me know where I can find the company that hosts it. I will look into everything.
Michaela-I feel the same way that you did. I wanted to be nice and share any information. I have to say, I actually felt relief when it was only posted on a site. I had a little panice attack worrying that if I answered an email, I might have compromised the security of my gmail. (yes I can be a little silly when it comes to the internet)I think from now on, I will answer questions on my blog or write a post about it.

Dave & Deb – I fell victim to those email scams as well. They seemed fishy, but believing in good kharma I did answer a few of them. I didn’t know where they ended up until I came across one of my “expert advice” in a Google Alert. In our enthusiasm to inspire others to travel, we are susceptible to these types of scams. But now we know better, and hopefully others will as well!

Hey Deb and Dave – great roundup of your week, and thanks for the mention.

On the page where your email address is posted, you can try going to http://allwhois.com to look up the domain, and see if you can get a clue where the site is hosted for example my site is hosted at 1&1 so if you do a allwhois search on my domain you’ll see at the bottom the DNS servers (who is hosting the domain) is ns57.1and1.com – that’s the clue you want (sometimes the hosting company is listed at the very bottom in tiny print on the site as well ) – then if you go to that hosting companies site and contact them, they can forcibly take down that page or whole site. If you can’t find the host company, but can find out who the registrar company is, often they can help too. Many of them are very nice and don’t want sites like that around polluting the internet.

On Stumble – if you use firefox you can get the Stumble toolbar and then you have a little thumbs up/thumbs down button you can use when you are at any site to Stumble them. You do need a Stumbleupon account (which you already have), and of course you can “thumbs up” your own site too

And I agree – you should reply to comments because there are definitely people who look to have a conversation with you….maybe they ask a question, or are interested in what you have to say in a followup comment…..

You can report that bogus post to DMCA, that’s the legal department of the web, it’s free. plus you can tell them you’ve done it and have them delete the post.

I’d like to know about su.pr as well. I tried but it’s not doing what i want
I am doing guest posters lately a lot, i feel so many people out there have so many great things to offer from different prespectives:) and I don’t have a series, per say, you can just go random posts, and just ask for specifics that you’d like.

also, i found having an editorial calendar really helps. it doesn’t matter if you’re at home or traveling!

That’s very scary about the spam mails. Thanks for sharing. I got a couple emails asking to link my site and a link back. But I couldn’t find their sites so I figure that this must be part of another spam as well. Gotta be careful out there.
