We’re Still Here!

One month has gone by since returning from the Tour d’Afrique and life will never be the same.
It is amazing how adaptable Dave and I are. We have so many plans for the future, that we couldn’t bring ourselves to settle back into “real life” We really want to be on to another adventure in the New Year, so to buy a condo or even settle into an apartment at this point in our lives would not make a lot of sense. So….
My parents graciously lent us their trailer for the summer and we are now working and playing out of Milton Heights trailer park. It has been perfect. No television, just internet, books and many plans, with the glorious Niagara Escarpment surrounding us. Kelso and Hilton Falls mountain biking are right next door and Rattlesnake point is 5 minutes from our doorstep.
I must say, we had a very productive week, we are very excited to have as a sponsor. Their dry lube kept us running smoothly during our entire time on the TDA and we are happy to be able to keep using them for our future races and rides.
We sat down with Kasia and Jim on Daytime Durham for Rogers TV and felt comfortable returning to a great show. We will have a copy coming soon, so keep an eye out for it in the next few posts.
And we enjoyed our first media presentation in front of 500 students at Woodland Park in Hespeler. It went over very well and we will be back after our next adventure for sure.
Everyone has been very supportive in our lives. Lorri and Shawn are always offering up their place for us to work from, by brother Rob has offered to build a room in the basement for us, My brother Jim, and sister Teresa have let us know that we can stay any time and all our friends in Toronto Greg, Jody, Paula, Danny, Angie, Mike, Monica, Mike,Cam and Tara, have offered up their places as well. And both our parents are behind us 100%, parental approval is always a bonus no matter how old you are.

Our publicists Vicki and Paul are making miracles happen and we are really grateful to have them. Thanks guys. Wow, we have awesome people in our lives.
Lucky for us, we don’t have to impose on anyone, because we are at the trailer:) Thanks mom and dad. It really is great here. After spending 4 months in a tent and another 2 months travelling and staying with family… having our own space is heaven.
We went for a 65k ride today and loved the fact that we didn’t have to load our bikes back onto our car and head back to the city after our ride. We stopped for a latte in Milton and then headed off to our site for a bar-b-que. Life really sounds amazing when I put it into words.
It hasn’t all been fun and games though, we are putting together pitches, proposals, queries and slide shows.
I am back to work at YTV next week and actually looking forward to it. It will give me a break (as Dave keeps working on everything at this end), to go out and see old friends and have a blast. I always enjoy myself at YTV.
