With the advent of digital cameras most people don’t really think of photographing in Black and White. Well I think people are missing out. If you look back over time you will see that some of the most striking and evoking photographs were taken in Black and White. It gives images a certain impact. Ansel Adams is a perfect example.

National Geographic Destinations, We’ve captured them too!

We thought it would be fun for this Photo Story Friday to compare some of our photo’s to those of National Geographic. We tried to choose photo’s that were places we had been before and had a similar subject matter. In doing this it was a great learning experience.

Paris at night: A Photo Story

Paris at night: A Photo Story

Paris is a beautiful city during the day. But is nice to see it lit up at night. Unfortunately they turn all of the lights off on the monuments and bridges at Midnight. Considering it doesn’t get dark until 10:30pm it doesn’t give one much of a chance to get a lot of shots in one night.

The Dragon Fountain of Versailles – Snapshot Sunday

The Dragon Fountain of Versailles – Snapshot Sunday

The Palace of Versailles was something we had always ended up missing on our trips to France. Not for any particular reason it just ended up that way. So we made sure to make a detour this time. To my dismay is was cloudy and stormy that day so I thought photographs would not be very interesting. I decided to make it a black and white day. But after looking at the images when we got back to the hotel the skies were so dramatic I had to keep them as colour. The Dragon Fountain of Versailles caught my eye. It is not as famous as the others but just as impressive! What do you think?

It has been fun putting ourselves into our photos and sharing them with the Stumbleupon community. From the street performers on the lively street La Rambla to the top of Barri Gothic Cathedral; At Gaudi’s La Sagrada Familia to the Columbus monument at the Waterfront, we stumbled our way all over the beautiful and vibrant city of Barcelona.
