Petra by night is something special that you should not miss when you travel to Jordan. Seeing the ruins at night gave them a certain mystique you do not get during the day. You really get the feeling that this is how the ancient spice caravan travelers must have seen it.
Thaipusam…The first Time Around
We were introduced to Thaipusam 6 years ago in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the Batu Caves. Two Travelers told us about this crazy festival where people put spikes through their cheeks and hooks in their backs. It was the most amazing spectacle we had ever seen. No day on our Mount Everest Base Camp Adventure would have been complete without having to spend at least 2 or 3 times dodging the infamous Yak trains that ply the trails through the Himalayas. My last photo story, The Sherpas of Mt Everest, looked at the human heroes this week we pay tribute to our woolly friends who carry supplies to all of the small towns that dot the landscape of this great mountain range.

Everyone who has ever heard of Mt. Everest has heard of Tenzing Norgay. The famous Sherpa who was the first, along side Sir Edmund Hillary, to summit the worlds tallest peak. Since then there have countless Sherpa’s who have given their lives carrying food, supplies and even clients on this mountain.
