Getting around Shanghai is easy with the iPhone app by MTrip. We found it to be a big help when deciding what to do with ourselves. We carried around information about the city in the palm of our hand. All we had to do was click a destination and our mTrip app would tell us the location, address and subway stop.
Hotel Hunting in Marseilles
Driving into Marseille was a nightmare at Friday night rush hour. We couldn’t find a campground to stay at near the city so we decided to stay at our old standby hotel for budget accommodation in Europe. We punched in The Ibis Hotel into our GPS and found one near the train station in Marseille. We thought that would be a great location and probably a little out of the downtown area. Boy were we wrong.

It one of those moments, the moment when we said, “How did we ever manage without this?” Thanks to our friend Bobby who strongly suggested that we buy a GPS for our trip through France to avoid toll roads, Dave set up the TomTom on our Iphone. “What the %#*! Electronics am I going to bring on this trip??” This is usually the first thing out of my mouth when I start thinking of what we are going to pack for our latest adventure. Deb is usually concerned over all of those non important things like Visa’s, Shots, Banking etc. But it is I who dares to ask this dreaded question that plagues every photographer before they jump on that plane and head to the next destination. Well maybe not everyone but me for sure. Technology changes so much I am always chomping at the bit for the latest greatest on the market. Unfortunately I am limited to a budget so it narrows down the choices. Like anyone I would love to spend 10,000 on the best gear as long as someone else is paying for it. But alas the funds must come from my coffers so money is an issue.
