It’s been two weeks of non-stop adventures in Thailand thanks to The Tourism Authority of Thailand and we are ending with a fabulous day of bikes, boats and elephants.
We set our alarms to see Lakshmi the temple elephant of Hampi. It was something that we had wanted to witness for years. An elephant being washed in the river by her master. We thought that we had missed our chance because we didn’t go to the elephant sanctuary in southern India. But as luck would have it, in Hampi they wash Lakshmi daily.
If there is one place in the world where you are guaranteed to see elephants it would be Chobe National Park. Home to the largest concentration of elephants in Africa. I have read different sources claiming anywhere from 50,000 to 120,000 elephants inhabit Chobe National Park. Whatever the actual population may be, you will see them everywhere.
