Why We Love McDonalds in France
How can you love McDonalds in France? It is a country renowned for its rich cuisine and fine wine. Stepping foot in a McDonalds is like thumbing your nose at the French heritage. There is nothing that we love more than sitting in an outdoor cafe, drinking wine and sampling rich cheeses and cured meats. Like the French, we have a love affair with their food. We couldn’t wait to peruse the menu of a restaurant and choose something mouth wateringly delicious. The prix fix menus were our saviour as we could sample a few dishes at a time. A Detour to Italy’s Riviera. A Treat for the Taste Buds
We couldn’t waste any more time relaxing on the beach and we had to get ourselves to the Cinque Terra in Italy. It is a beautiful piece of the Mediterranean where one can walk and hike along a gorgeous path on the coast. The minute we entered Italy we fell in love with it. The language is music to my ears, the food is heaven to the taste buds and the people are friendly and passionate.
Qatar Airways, It is now Our Favorite Way to Fly
We had seen the ads for months throughout Asia. Qatar Airways, the world’s five star airline. Wow, it must be good. We were surprised to find Qatar Airways had one of the cheapest flights out of Kathmandu to Toronto when we booked our tickets online. We went directly to Qatar Airways website and took a chance to book. Not only did we find a reasonable flight, we managed to get ourselves upgraded to business class in the process.
Canada’s Lack of Cultural Food Identity
One of the things that we are most looking forward to here in India is sampling the food. We have already enjoyed delicious meals of Masala, Palak Paneer and Dosai. Indian food has incredible flavour. As you read this, we are on a house boat cruising the backwaters of Kerala with our own private chef cooking the best of what India has to offer. The other night our hosts at Skylark Guest house in Varkala cooked us a traditional Kerala meal and it was incredible. We have only been in India a week so we really cannot write a blog post about food yet. We aren’t experts and don’t know a lot about the cuisine of this country yet.
