Travel Photography Roulette Round #7: And the Winner is…
We had a whopping 33 entries for Travel Photography Roulette, the portraits edition and have to say that there are an amazingly talented bunch of travel photographers out there on the Internet. It was a challenge having to choose a winner when every photo was unique, inspiring, well executed and just as compelling as the other. Photography is subjective. What one person likes isn’t exactly what another would. We decided that the only way to choose was to set up a very strict criteria before we even started. Otherwise we our heads would be spinning for days. Before we put up the original post last week, we came up with 5 things that we would look for when choosing the winning photo.

One of our favourite things about travel is the people we meet along the way. Starting a conversation, breaking the ice with a smile and having a laugh with a person from another culture can create a memory to last a lifetime. We may not able to speak the same language but we can all understand an act of kindess or an friendly exchange. We have faces etched in our memory from our travels over the years and having a photograph helps to remind of us that special moment in time.
Our Mongol Rally Team Name Announced
This is it, the moment you have all been waiting for! What will the name of our crazy team that has decided to drive 10,000 miles (16,093 km) across two continent. We will be joining Sherry Ott and Rick Griffin in the Mongol Rally. We have a lot of planning to do, but nothing can truly start until we have a name. Thanks to all of you, we now have a name!

Because we are joining Sherry Ott of Ottworld and Rick Griffin of Midlife Road trip on an epic drive through two continents and 10,000 miles.The Mongol Rally the adventure we have been waiting for. This was made for us and to actually find other people that want to do it too is a major bonus. Our team of crazy, travel loving bloggers will push ourselves to the limit driving through deserts, over mountains, on non-existent roads and through bandit country (although I don’t know which country that may be!)
