My mind is abuzz after Travel Bloggers Unite in Italy. From our side of the weekend’s events, we can state that it was a rousing success. Spending the Saturday leading and attending sessions for Industry professionals was one of the highlights of the event. Now, two days later we are more motivated than ever and have come away with the feeling that the future looks bright for Travel Blogging in Europe.
As the countdown continues to the Mongol Rally, I was thinking the other day about the post that went up on Tuesday. It is going to be an Epic Trip. It talked about our preparations and leg work that we have to do before making our way to the starting line in London. We have a lot of work leading up to the Rally from planning and mapping out the route to finding funds and rounding up gear. We have our hands full for the next few months with the business end of things and scouring the Internet for information and funding. That is the easy part, but what about the problems will have to face during the Mongol Rally.
Recently we have had the chance to meet several fellow travel Bloggers. Over the past year, we have been on our own trying to bounce ideas off of one another while working in our travels. While that has worked out well to a point, it hasn’t been until these past couple of months that we have been really inspired and excited about the future of travel and blogging.Everyone that we met these past few weeks have become great friends. We will all help and support each other as we all learn and grow together.
It wasn’t until this past April that we actually looked into the business of Blogging. We stumbled upon it really, we were looking into travel writing and how to submit to magazines and newspapers. As we followed links from one blog to another looking for information, we came across a great travel website called NomadicMatt.com We have learned a great deal in the past 6 months and one of the biggest contributors to our progress has been by following Matthew Kepnes word of wisdom in How to Make Money With Your Travel Blog.
