Long Haul Flights are Hell
We vowed that we would never fly straight to Asia from Toronto again. With all the connections and hours in the air, it is downright impossible to recover from jet lag quickly and get on with our travels. We only had 1 week in Fiji and we didn’t want to waste any of that time in a state of mental fog so we booked an overnight stay in Los Angeles. It turned out to be an excellent idea. We had a good nights rest, and by the time we arrived in Nadi (Fiji’s international airport) we were feeling chipper and ready to take on the week of adventures.
Everest Flight, One Adventurous Ride to Lukla
What is more scary than taking a flight on a small twin engine plane through the Himalayas of Nepal from Kathmandu to Lukla? Having to take a flight back in rough weather. After two weeks of trekking the the most famous mountain range on earth it was time to return to civilization. At 2800 meters, Lukla is the town where most people start and finish their trek to Everest Base Camp.The Tenzing/Hillary airport is a crazy airstrip dangling off the side of a mountain. It is short, it is steep and it falls thousands of meters into an enormous valley.
Paris Here We Come, Thanks to Air France
Last month we wrote an article about the new Premium Voyageur class that Air France is introducing on their international flights. What we didn’t tell you was that we were involved in a contest put on by Air France Canada. Air France invited 20 top Canadian Bloggers to take part in helping to promote the new class.
