Photo Journey Through Middle Earth

New Zealand LandscapesWith all the hype over the release of the movie The Hobbit, we are reminded of our journey through New Zealand two years ago. What better way to relive a memory than through a photo journey from our time there. New Zealand really does conjure up images of Middle Earth. While we travelled through the country, we couldn’t believe just how much New Zealand epitomizes Middle Earth. It is a land filled with breathtaking scenery, striking mountains, pristine beaches, lush forests and rolling hills. The landscape is so diverse in such a small space. One minute you can be walking on a glacier and the next you can be hiking beside a waterfall.

While looking through our photo library, we noticed that there are so many images of New Zealand that we never shared with our readers. Yes, we told you of our adventures but after 6-weeks exploring the country, we came away with amazing captures of the landscape and scenery. So Enjoy this Photo Journey of New Zealand and explore the land also known as Middle Earth.

  1. New Zealand offers some stunning views, too bad it not an accessible destination.
It’s quite a distance from Europe or the United States in particular.

    • Very true. New Zealand is quite a long flight from the US, but it is totally worth going to. If you give yourself 4-6 weeks there, it can make the trip worth it. Maybe save up some vacation days tack them on to time before and after the Christmas holidays and a good 4 or 5 week tours is certainly not out of the question. I hope you make it there one day. It’s beautiful

    • Thanks Peter! We thought we’d try something new, we’ve never really put up a slide show on the site before. We thought it would be fitting to take people on a journey through Middle Earth.
