Intense Incense in Man-Mo Temple, Hong Kong

The incense coils decorate the inside of the Man Mo Temple in Hong Kong
You read it correctly that’s all incense in this photo. It was actually difficult studying the interior of the Man-Mo Temple in Hong Kong due to the intense smell of incense, but it was also fascinating. We had never seen coils like this before and they were all burning in full force. Built in 1847, the Man Mo Temple is the oldest temple in the region. The incense is burned to attract the attention of the Gods.
The temple is dedicated to the God of War and the God of Literature and up until the 1990′s it was used by locals to settle disputes. Located on Hollywood Road within walking distance to the very trendy district of Soho, the Man Mo Temple is a must see attraction when visiting Hong Kong.
Wow – I have seen coils like that but never so many and all lit – that is extreme – does this mean mega karma happening there!

I know eh. there are a lot of coils indeed here. We had never seen this many in one place either.
This photo is spectacular. There is so much going on here yet it is still such a nice composition. I love it!

Wow what an amazing photo!!!!!
Thanks Andi, Cheers.
I LOVED Man Mo Temple in HK (and I’m not huge into temples, churches, etc etc) but it was just so striking and the coils were wonderful visuals. Great photo! I didn’t get a picture of the whole room – just up close of the coils. I love this photo.
