It is littered with extravagant chateaus that are certainly worth a visit.
Not only will you see the famous Chateaus like Chateau de Cheverny and Chateau de Chaumont, you will see castles all along the back roads, the rivers and the highways.
The Loire Valley is a beautiful place to visit in France and for Chateau perfection, the Chateau de Chambord shown in the photo above is a castle that you must visit. It is considered one of the finest in France.

I’m planning to spend next summer (2011) in Europe so I will definitely put the Loire Valley on my list – I love castles! If I could find an affordable one, with modern amenities like electricity and indoor plumbing, I would totally live there.
