We first heard about Locked up Abroad while travelling in Jamaica. Our travel mates were chatting about all the different ways that clueless tourists manage to get themselves thrown in jail. I couldn’t believe that this was actually a TV series and I just had to see it for myself. When we returned home, we caught a few episodes and found them to be very entertaining. It’a amazing to see what people think they can get away with in other countries around the world.
This spring, we asked our readers to help us choose where American Express should send us on our next adventure: Our next trip is on water and we have put together our top choices for water sports around the world.

As I sit down to write this 2011 Adventure Travel Round up, I am in shock and awe that we really did all these things in a span of 365 days. We just lived a year of adventure travel that I never thought I would have the opportunity to ever do in my life
There aren’t a lot of countries that we go back to again and again. Actually we realized that we have only re-visited 3 countries again and again. Mexico, Thailand and France keep calling us back.
As I go through the list of amazing ruins we have visited on our travels, I see that we have barely scratched the surface of all there is to see in the world. We have yet to see Easter Island, Stonehenge, The Acropolis in Athens or the Roman Colosseum. We may never see any of [...]

The Tour d’Afrique 2011 kicks off today in Cairo, Egypt. It was this time three years ago that we started our transformation from working class career oriented professionals to adventurers and full time travel bloggers. It started out as a New Years Resolution on the eve of 2008. We were feeling blue after 2 years of working too hard and traveling too little. We were stuck in a rut. It was just after midnight on a very gloomy New Years Eve for us. We were watching TV and luckily a profile of ultra marathon runner Ray Zahab came on the CBC. We were instantly inspired and made a pact to do something extraordinary in the New Year.
