The Galapagos Islands are home to the most fascinating species of animals on earth. The Galapagos islands are a harsh environment and animals weren’t supposed to live here. However, thousands of years ago, animals drifted on air currents and debris from the mainland. These air currents took them to the Galapagos Islands in the middle of the Pacific Ocean creating the most unique ecosystem in the world. We compiled a spectacular collection of “Animal Photos Galapagos Islands” to share with you. You won’t see many of these animals anywhere else in the world. The’re unique to the Galapagos islands and they are incredible to see.
The Galapagos Islands are located off the coast of Ecuador, South America. We captured amazing videos and photos during our time there and here are our favourite animal photos from the trip. It is in the Galapagos that you will encounter wildlife so close you can reach out and touch them. The animals will waddle or swim right up to your nose. They have no fear of humans are very curious creatures.

And Finally….
Since we didn’t capture a worthy photo of the Galapagos Shark, we thought we’d show a video of our encounter. The Galapagos shark is unique to the islands and you will be able to swim right in the centre of a swirling group of the big sea animals.

I love your penguin shot! The light was bad in Tagus Cove the day we saw them, so my shots of them were just OK, but yours is exceptional. And I’m a big fan of your boobies as well (the blue-footed ones, that is)…
Have a great time Ashray! You will definitely see a lot. Luckily the ecosystem is so rich and abundant that the chances of spotting wildlife is very good. Make sure to do a lot of snorkelling. Playing with the sea lions and swimming with sharks was definitely a highlight.
You know, my love of animals is one of my big inspirations to travel. I consider myself very lucky to have seen leatherback turtles laying their eggs (and even got to see one during the day, which is more rare), penguins and baboons in South Africa, and giraffes, zebra and elephants from the window of my rental Corolla in Namibia. The Galapagos and all of Patagonia is definitely on my list of places to go just for the animal viewing… and the wine in northern Chile/Argentina won’t hurt either
Hi Andy, wow! That must have been an amazing experience to see the leatherback turtles laying their eggs. I’ve always wanted to witness a moment like that. I’ve seen (many years ago) it on TV and it has been on the bucket list ever since. And yes, I agree. The wine is an added bonus. It was the perfect combination for spotting wildlife in South Africa and Namibia and seeing the sights in Argentina. Mmm, Malbec.
Thanks Lorenzo. Yes, the poor forgotten crab of the Galapagos. Everyone always talks about the turtles and sea lions, but the crabs are giant, colourful and fun to watch. Glad you like him;)

Beautiful photos! I’d like to encounter those blue-footed Boobies. It was like their feet were painted or something. The sea lion is also my favorite.
