Alaska, Land of the Midnight Sun: Snapshot Sunday

-

We have only been in Alaska, Land of the midnight sun, for a couple of days but the scenery here is just breathtaking.

I was not sure I would get any sunset or night photos here as the sun sets around 1am and rises at 3am. Even then, it never truly sets at all. So you have to stay up late.

Very Late.

On this night, in Denali National Park, the colors were so deep and contrasting, I was God smacked by the beauty and wanted to share it all with you. Alaska certainly gives the photographer a wide range of subjects to photograph. From the magnificent landscapes to the excellent mix of wildlife, Alaska has something for everyone.

Be sure to check in regularly with us on twitter as @PrincessCruises has given us this wonderful opportunity to share with you the beauty of Alaska through the #FollowMeAtSea Press trip!

    • Alouise, the colours have been astounding here in Alaska. As the sun sets slowly, the sky lights up with colour.

    • Definitely Painted Melvin. Deb sat on the deck and painted all night long while the rest of us slept.

  7. Beautiful! I love how your photo evokes such a wonderful response – even though I’ve never been to Alaska, I’ve lived in places that were close in beauty, and had lots of pine forests, so I can almost smell the fresh air and pine trees that you find up in the north and northwest of our continent.

Hope you’re having a blast on the cruise! See you next weekend. :)

    • Thanks Trisha. It is certainly surreal to be here in Alaska. It has always been a far away place for us. Even though it is just north of our country, we didn’t think we would make a trip here any time soon and then here we are! In Alaska enjoying the trip of a lifetime!

  9. What fabulous scenery and the colors are unreal. Can I ask what camera you use for the shots. I’m hoping to go to Alaska with my sister next year. I have seen very little of snow or glacier country and it looks fabulous.
