I agree Mark. I can’t get enough pesto especially with their fresh olive oils. It had a stronger flavour than what I have had in Canada. Now whenever I have pesto at home I know I am going to find it to be too bland. But I will always remember Italy’s amazing Cinque Terre.

We stayed at an excellent campground in Italy in Venerossa. there are tonnes of Campgrounds all over the place. If you happen to bring an iphone or gps, make sure you get the TomTom and then you can simply look up the "point of interest" option and then search campground near me. It is amazing. We also used www.alanrogers.com to find campsites all over France, Spain and Italy. They are quite luxurious and inexpensive.

Ah foccacia. I forgot to mention the foccacia good call. You are right, the local white was quite good as well. very refreshing at lunch during our 5 villages walk!

Ah, this brings back such great memories from hiking around Cinque Terre a few years ago. In addition to gelato, we ate lots of foccacia. So much better than what you find in the States. Wow, I’m actually salivating just reading this! I totally adore any kind of Italian food, and to me the perfect meal includes pasta, olive oil, pesto, olives, Parmesan cheese (the real stuff), and of course a good red wine…. I can see why you think you’re in heaven.
